The southeast portion of Colorado Springs includes a variety of areas with all ages and sizes of homes available. Together, these divisions form a unique community full of conveniences. Neighborhoods include Knob Hill, Stratton Meadows, and Stratmoor.
Knob Hill, located northeast of downtown Colorado Springs, was one of the earliest expansions of the city. Today, the area is home to the Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind, the Union Printers Home, Memorial Hospital, and the US Olympic Training Center. Memorial Park offers acres of outdoor and indoor recreational areas, including a skate park, indoor recreation center, ice skating rink, and plenty of annual events. Additionally, Valley Hi Golf Course is open year-round and includes great pricing and a locally-popular grill and pub. With Amy's Donuts and an assortment of coffee shops nearby, Knob Hill is a great location for any buyers or renters.
Stratton Meadows is tucked between downtown and the Ivywild neighborhood, and it provides several noteworthy businesses and services that are utilized by the entire city. The Broadmoor World Arena features entertainment and sporting events year-round, while the 291 Distillery, Prime 25, and Edelweiss German Restaurant offer fine drinks and dining to satisfy any palette. Shopping options abound at the Cheyenne Mountain Shopping Center and Broadmoor Towne Center, while the cinema can be enjoyed at any time just around the corner at the Cinemark Tinseltown movie theater.
Stratmoor encompasses the area around I-25 and South Academy Boulevard. This area includes the Pikes Peak Community College Centennial Campus and borders the northern entrance to Fort Carson. A newer shopping center, just across Academy Boulevard from PPCC, has a variety of convenient shopping and dining options, including Walmart, Sam's Club, Qdoba Mexican Grill, and Sally Beauty.
Every age of student has the opportunity to choose their location to attend school, thanks to district choice enrollment programs. Harrison School District 2 is designed to accommodate all of the students of southeast Colorado Springs, while Cheyenne Mountain School District 12 encompasses the southwest portion of Colorado Springs. With over 4,600 students, the school district boasts a college attendance rate of 85% and ranks fifth against all other Colorado school districts. Fountain-Fort Carson School District 8 takes priority for students closer to Fort Carson. Widefield School District 3 serves the students across I-25, offering full K-12 education, also. Fountain Valley School of Colorado provides college-preparatory boarding school or regularly scheduled school without living accomodations. Each of these options are great opportunities for the advancement of students' futures.
